Vijay Cosmetic & General Store

At 546 Parvatia Colony, things stay pretty busy because we are right on Saran School Road. Vijay Cosmetic & General Store is a bit of a mix of things. We have the usual soaps and shampoos, but also bangles, bindis, and some basic medicines. It’s a small shop in Jawahar Colony, Faridabad, so we have to be smart about how we use the space. Sometimes the shelves look a bit overloaded because we try to fit so much in. The school nearby means we get a lot of kids coming in for pens or snacks during their breaks. That usually makes the shop very noisy for a while. We spend a lot of time helping people find the right shade of something or looking for a specific item buried in a box. The floor is just simple concrete and we have a small bench for people to sit if they are waiting. Faridabad can be very dusty, so we are constantly wiping down the glass cases. It’s just me and a family member usually, so if one of us is busy, the other has to handle everything. We don't have any fancy computer system, just a calculator and a notebook. It’s a lot of long hours, especially in the summer heat, but the people in the colony are friendly enough. We just try to keep enough stock so that nobody has to go too far to find what they need for their home.
