Victor Rubber Works

Plot No. 164 in Ballabgarh is where you will find us. We are near the Sihi Gate area, which is usually quite dusty and busy with industrial traffic. Our building isn't anything special to look at, just a practical factory space. Inside, the smell of raw rubber is very strong. It’s a scent that stays on your clothes long after you go home. We have several old machines that we use for the rubber work. They make a lot of noise, so we have to talk loudly to hear each other. The floor is concrete and often has black marks from the materials we move around. We don't have a big front office or a receptionist. Usually, if someone comes by, one of us just wipes our hands and goes to talk to them. The Haryana heat can be really tough in June, and the shed gets very hot. We drink a lot of water and take short breaks in the shade. Most of the guys here have worked at Victor Rubber Works for a long time. We know the quirks of the machines and how to fix them when they act up. We spend the day molding and cutting, then stacking the finished parts in the corner for the morning pickup. It’s heavy work and our hands are always dirty by the end of the shift. We just try to get the orders ready on time.
