Vertex Print & Pack

We are based over in 5G/75, N.I.T., which is an area that's always been full of workshops and small factories. Vertex Print & Pack is basically a printing shop that grew into doing packaging too. The sound of the printing presses is the background music of our lives. It’s a rhythmic clicking and humming that goes on all day long. We have a lot of paper and cardboard stacked up everywhere, so you have to watch your step when you walk through the shop floor. The ink smell is pretty strong when you first walk in, but we don't even notice it anymore. We aren't a massive corporation with hundreds of machines. We have a few good ones that we take care of and they keep running for us day in and day out. Most of the time, we’re busy checking proofs or making sure the colors look right on a box before we run the whole batch. It’s a lot of detail work that can be tiring on the eyes by the time we finish. We don't have any fancy mission statements; we just try to get the prints out on time so our clients can pack their products. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we all have to pitch in to get it fixed quickly. It’s a hands-on business. We’ve been in this N.I.T. location for years and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit, but we’re still here doing the same work.
