Sunflag Iron & Steel Co. Ltd.

We are based out in the village of Palwali, which is near Kheri Kalan in the Faridabad district of Haryana. It’s a bit of a rural setting for an office of Sunflag Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., but that’s where we need to be. The area is a mix of old farmland and new industrial development. To get here, you have to drive down some narrow roads that can get quite muddy when it rains. Our office is a plain building that stands out a bit among the local houses. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the local logistics and the people from the surrounding villages. It’s a very grounded place to work. There’s always dust in the air from the nearby construction and the trucks. We don't have air conditioning in every room, so we rely on big windows and fans to keep us going. The work involves a lot of manual record-keeping and talking to the drivers who come through. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We start early in the morning and finish up when the sun goes down. Most of us bring our own lunch from home and eat together at the big main table. It’s not a polished environment, but we get the job done and we know the land around here very well. It is just a regular part of the industrial outskirts of Faridabad.
