Sumit Kiryana Store

Sumit Kiryana Store is located right at Main Patel Chowk in Sgm Nagar. The address is Fca 1/3, Nit, Faridabad. I’ve lived in this area for many years, so opening a shop here felt like the right thing to do back then. We deal in all kinds of kiryana items like lentils, rice, oils, and different spices. It stays pretty dusty because of the road work that always seems to be happening nearby, but we try to keep the counters clean. It is a family thing, really. My brother stays here in the mornings and I take over in the afternoons. We have a lot of regular customers who live in the apartments and houses around the chowk. They usually just shout their order while standing outside or bring a little piece of paper with a list. Sometimes I have to tell people we are out of something and they have to wait until tomorrow or the next day. It happens. We aren't a big mall, just a corner store. The fridge for the cold drinks hums quite loudly, especially when it’s quiet at night. I usually sit on a wooden stool near the entrance. Most of the time, I’m just busy weighing out grains or packing stuff in small plastic bags. It is hard work, standing all day, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. We don't do home delivery much, but if an old neighbor asks, we help them.
