Sudarshan Store

We are over at Shop No-29 and 30 in the Autopin Market area of NIT. It is a busy spot in Faridabad and we have been here for quite some time now. Sudarshan Store is basically where people from the New Industrial Township come to get their monthly groceries and small bits for the house. We have two shops joined together so there is a bit more room than some of the other places nearby, but it still gets cramped with all the sacks of grain and lentils. The morning starts with unloading the milk crates and setting up the front of the shop. You see the same people every day, mostly neighbors who have lived in NIT for decades. We do not really have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept on the high shelves. If you need something specific, you usually have to ask because we pack things in pretty tight. The market can get dusty with all the traffic outside, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the counters and jars. It is just a regular local store where we try to keep the prices fair and the stock fresh. Nothing too complicated about it. We stay open throughout the day and only close once the sun goes down and the market starts to quiet down. It is hard work being on your feet all day, but it is what we do.
