Being right near Aggarwal Public School means our days at Sirohi Medical Centre Pvt Ltd follow a certain rhythm. Every morning, we hear the school buses pulling up and the sounds of parents dropping off their kids. It’s a busy little corner of the world here at Plot No. 4 & 5. Inside the clinic, things are a bit more subdued compared to the noise outside. We have a front desk that’s usually piled with a few stacks of paper and a computer that’s seen better days. The floors are tiled in a light gray color that shows every bit of dust, so we are always sweeping. Most of the people who come in live right here in the vicinity, so we see a lot of familiar faces. The private limited part of the name makes it sound very official, but really, it’s just us working in these rooms day in and day out. We have a small corner where we keep our bags and eat lunch when there’s a break in the schedule. Sometimes the power goes out for a few minutes and we just sit there in the quiet until the backup kicks in. It’s a practical place. We don’t have fancy art on the walls or anything like that. Just some posters about health and a clock that ticks a little bit too loud when the room is empty.
