Aggarwal Timber

Down at Aggarwal Timber, the smell of fresh wood is the first thing you notice when you pull into Plot No. 43. We are out in the Shri Sai Industrial Area on Harfala Road, which is part of Village Sikri in Ballabgarh. It’s a dusty place, mostly because of all the sawing and moving logs around the yard. We have piles of timber stacked up high, waiting for someone to come pick them up for a building project. The trucks come in and out all day, and it can get pretty loud when the heavy machinery is running. We don't spend much time in the little office because most of the work happens outside in the open air. Sometimes the rain slows us down, and we have to cover everything up with big tarps, but that’s just how it goes with wood. The guys working here know their way around a saw and can tell you what kind of wood you’re looking at just by the grain. We keep things pretty straightforward and don’t bother with anything that isn’t necessary. It’s a rough and tumble kind of business, but it’s what we do. You’ll usually find someone sweeping up sawdust or marking planks with a pencil near the gate. It’s a long day out here in Ballabgarh, but the work is honest and the stacks of timber keep growing. We just take it one pile at a time.
