Shrota The Listener Foundation

We are tucked away in Block B of SGM Nagar in Faridabad. Our place at FCA-1998 isn't anything special to look at, just a regular spot where we keep our things. We started this because it felt like everyone was talking but nobody was actually listening anymore. So, we decided to be the ones who do the listening. It’s a small foundation. Most of the time it’s just a couple of us sitting around with a pot of tea, waiting for whoever might need to talk. We don't have big budgets or fancy equipment. The walls could use a new coat of paint and the chairs are a bit squeaky. But it’s a quiet place in a very busy city. We handle all sorts of people who come through the door. Sometimes they just have a bad day, other times it’s bigger stuff. We don't pretend to have all the answers. We just offer a bit of time. Being here in Haryana, we see a lot of folks struggling with all kinds of things. We just stay here and keep the door open. Some days are really quiet and we just tidy up the files. Other days, we don't even have time to eat lunch. That's just how the work goes. We're not here for the fame. We just want to be a helpful part of the neighborhood in 121001. It’s pretty basic work, but we think it matters to the people who find us.
