H. No. 137 on Gali No 10 is right near the Vikash School. If you know the Ballabgarh Tigaon Road, you know how busy it gets. There are always rickshaws and motorbikes zooming past. Our gate is usually open. We get a lot of noise from the school kids during their lunch break. It’s a lively place to be. We focus on education, mostly helping kids who can't afford the extra stuff they need for school. We have a few old computers that we try to keep running. They are slow but they work. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and wait, talking to whoever is there. Bhikam Colony is a tight-knit place. Everyone knows everyone else’s business. We like that. It means we know exactly who needs a hand. We don't have a big budget. Most of our furniture was donated by people who were moving away. It’s a bit of a mix of styles, but it’s comfortable. We spend a lot of time walking up and down the road, talking to parents. They worry about their children's future. We try to give them some hope. It’s a messy, loud, and busy life here in Ballabgarh, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We just do what we can with the little we have. Every morning we sweep the front step and get ready for the day. Sometimes the dust from the Tigaon Road makes it hard to breathe, but we get used to it. We keep a big jug of water ready for whoever needs a drink.
