Rectifiers & Controls is located over in Sector 25. It is an industrial area, so there is always a lot of noise and trucks moving around outside. We work with electrical components and control systems. The workshop is usually full of wires and metal casings. It is not the kind of place where you come for a coffee, it is where work happens. I spend most of my day at the bench or checking on the machines. We have been in this spot for quite some time. The walls are a bit stained from the years of work, but everything functions the way it should. We get orders from other businesses nearby mostly. Sometimes people call with a problem and we have to figure out which part they need. It is a lot of troubleshooting. We have some heavy equipment that takes up most of the floor space. You have to watch your step. The lighting isn't great, but we have lamps for the detailed stuff. It gets hot in the summer because of all the machinery running. We just keep the fans going. It’s a practical place. We focus on the hardware. Not much room for small talk when there are things to be built. We just keep our heads down and get through the list of tasks for the day. It’s honest work. The back door stays propped open with a heavy brick to let some fresh air in. We share the alleyway with a welding shop, so there are always sparks and metal smells drifting in.
