Our place is Shop No. 50 in the Ramneek Shopping Complex. It is quite close to the Mata Vaishno Dev Mandir, so we hear the bells and the people visiting the temple all the time. Being near the N.I.T area means there is always some activity. The shop is filled with various items, mostly things people need for their daily projects or homes. It gets a bit crowded inside because we try to keep a lot of stock on the shelves. Sometimes we have to move boxes around just to find a place to sit. The lighting isn't the brightest, but we know where everything is kept. We start early in the morning, usually right when the other shops in the complex are opening their shutters. There is a specific smell of cardboard and metal in the air here. We don't really have a big staff, just a couple of us doing the lifting and the selling. Customers come in asking for specific parts or supplies, and we spend time looking through the drawers. It’s honest work, even if it gets a bit tiring by the afternoon. The floor is concrete and stays relatively cool. We usually have lunch in the back room while listening to the noise of the traffic outside. It isn't a modern office or anything like that, just a regular shop where we get things done. We've been in this spot for a while, watching the complex get older. We don't really use a computer much for the records.
