Out here in Chattarpur Village, specifically around Chandanholla on the main road, things are a bit slower than the city center. This is where Rama Art is located. It’s a dusty place, mostly because of all the construction and the trucks passing by on the main road all the time. I spend my days working with different materials, mostly just trying to get the shapes right. My hands are usually dirty by ten in the morning. The space we have is more like a workshop than a proper studio. There are pieces of wood and metal lying in the corners, and sometimes I trip over something I forgot I put there. It’s not a fancy gallery where you have to whisper. People can just walk in from the road and see what I’m making. Sometimes kids from the village stop by to watch for a minute. I don't really have a big plan for what I’m doing most days. I just look at what needs to be finished and I get to it. The light in the afternoon is pretty good through the front door, which helps. I’ve been in this spot for a few years now and the neighbors are all okay. We all just do our own thing. It’s honest work and it keeps me out of trouble. There is always something to fix or a new project to start on the workbench. It’s not a big company, just a place for making things.
