Raj Furniture

Our place is located at House Number 269 in New Bhur Colony. If you are looking for Raj Furniture, you will find us in Old Faridabad, right in the middle of where people live. It is not a showroom with big lights or anything like that. It is more of a workspace where we deal with wood and glue all day. Most mornings start with the sound of sawing and the smell of polish. We have piles of timber stacked up in the corner and sawdust usually gets on everything, including our tea cups. We make chairs, tables, and cupboards for the people living nearby. Sometimes someone wants a bed fixed or a new door made for their house. We just get on with it. My clothes are usually covered in wood shavings by noon. It is a bit cramped in here with all the half-finished projects taking up space, but we manage to move things around to make room. We use the tools that have been with us for years. People from the colony just walk in to see how their order is coming along or to ask about a price. Well, we do not use computers for much here; we just write things down in a big ledger. It is quiet work in a way, just focusing on the wood and making sure the joints are tight. Sometimes we stay late when there is a big order to finish and the tea gets cold.
