Rabindranath Tagore Institute of Architecture & Design (City Office)

This is our city office located on the third floor of Crown Plaza Shopping Mall in Faridabad. It’s right across from the Ajronda Chowk metro station, which is handy for anyone coming by train. We deal with architecture and design stuff here. The office is in 19B. It’s a mall setting, so it’s a bit different from a standalone shop. We have students and people interested in design coming in and out throughout the day. The view from the third floor isn't much, just the metro tracks and the busy road, but it keeps us connected to the city. We spend a lot of time on computers or looking at blueprints. It’s a quiet place compared to the streets below. I usually start my day quite early to get through the emails and paperwork. We have some drawing tables set up and a few meeting rooms. It's a functional space for teaching or discussing design projects. Sometimes the elevators in the mall take forever, so I end up taking the stairs. We aren't trying to be a huge institution, just a local place where design is the focus. Faridabad has changed a lot since we opened this office. The metro being right there makes a big difference for everyone. We just keep our heads down and focus on the curriculum and the projects we have going on. It's a steady pace here and we are used to the routine of mall life.
