Pet Clinic

You can usually smell the food from across the street when the wind blows the right way. It’s a bit of a distraction for the dogs, honestly. Our Pet Clinic is a small operation. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who care about the animals that come through. Some people just pop their heads in to ask a quick question or check our hours. We try to be helpful when we can. The clinic is basically just one main room and a back area for the heavy lifting. It gets a bit cramped when a large family brings in their golden retriever, but we make it work. I spend a lot of time wiping down the counters and making sure we have enough bandages. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s what we do. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use flashlights, but that’s just life here. We don’t make a big deal out of things. We just see the pets, give them what they need, and say goodbye until next time. It’s a steady rhythm that keeps us going every day.
