The big building in Sector 33 is where most of us spend our entire day. It is a huge place with a lot of people coming and going from different parts of the country. If you walk past the gates, you see the security and the green grass around the main office area. Most of the work here is about making sure the lights stay on for everyone by managing those massive dams and power projects way out in the mountains. It is a lot of paperwork and meetings, to be honest. You see people carrying files and drinking tea in the canteen during the break. It does not feel like a small shop obviously because it is a very big organization, but inside, we are all just trying to get the job done. The hallways are long and sometimes it takes a few minutes just to walk from one department to another. Even though we deal with electricity on a giant scale, the atmosphere is quite steady and routine. People have been working here for twenty or thirty years and they know every corner of this office. It is not just about the numbers or the reports; it is about the thousands of people who rely on what happens in these rooms. The desks are covered in documents and the computers stay busy until late evening. It is just another day at work for us here in Faridabad, working for NHPC Ltd.
