Mohan Auto Industries

Our shop is tucked away right behind the Gurudwara in the Sarrorpur Industrial Area. You can hear the prayers and the music from the temple while we’re working on metal parts and engine components. It’s Plot No. 13, and it’s usually covered in a thin layer of oil and iron filings. Mohan Auto Industries isn't a big flashy factory, just a solid place where we get our hands dirty every morning. I usually get in early to start the lathes, and the sound of metal hitting metal is the soundtrack of my life. My father started this, and we’ve just kept it going because people around Sarrorpur need their parts made right. We don't use fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is just knowing how the machine feels when it's cutting. The floor is cracked in a few places, and the lights flicker sometimes, but we get the orders out on time. On festival days, we stop for a bit to get some food from the Gurudwara, which is a nice break from the grease. We don't spend money on advertising or big signs because the guys who need us already know where we are. It’s simple, heavy work, and we like it that way. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just the ones who stay open and keep working.
