JMC Tapex Industries

Our place is Plot No. 12 on Ram Singh Road. It’s located on the Dabha Pali Road, near the village of Bazri. It is a bit out of the way compared to the city shops, but that gives us more space to work with. JMC Tapex Industries is mostly about production and keeping the machines running. We make different kinds of tapes, so there is always the sound of rolls spinning and plastic being cut. The building is a large shed, basically. It stays dusty because of the road outside and the nature of the work. We have a small crew of workers who come in from the nearby villages. Most of the day is spent watching the output and making sure the adhesive is sticking right. We don't have an air-conditioned office or anything like that. We just have a small desk near the main door where we keep the logs and the phone. Trucks come by a few times a week to pick up the finished pallets. When the machines break down, we usually fix them ourselves because it takes too long for a technician to come out this far. It is a simple life out here. We start when the sun comes up and try to finish before it gets too dark. There is always a lot of heavy lifting involved with the big master rolls. We just keep our heads down and get through the production schedule as best as we can.
