Hanung Toys & Textile Ltd., Noida

Our work happens out of this house in Sector 19, Old Faridabad. It’s house number 591, and it stays quite busy with all the toy and textile projects we have going on. Even though the name says Noida, this Haryana location is where a lot of the actual day-to-day oversight takes place for this branch. We have stacks of fabric sitting in the corners and some of the soft toy prototypes sitting on the shelves. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if you aren't familiar with the side streets of Faridabad, but we’ve been here long enough that the local couriers know the way. The rooms are filled with the smell of new cloth and sometimes the sound of sewing machines if we are testing a new pattern. We aren't a massive factory here, more like a management spot that keeps the orders moving. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the stitching and making sure the colors match the orders we received. It’s practical work. My desk is usually covered in scrap paper and thread. We don’t have a big fancy lobby for visitors, just a couple of chairs and a table where we go over the weekly schedules. It’s a lot of manual tracking and making sure the production side of the company knows what’s needed. The weather in Haryana gets really hot, so we usually start early in the morning to beat the sun.
