Deepak Saree Centre

If you go near the Gaushala Corner by the bus stand in Palwal, you will find our shop. It is called Deepak Saree Centre. We have been here for years, right where the buses pull in and out all day. It gets very dusty and loud with all the people moving around, but it is a good spot for a shop. We sell sarees of all kinds. We have them stacked up to the ceiling almost. My uncle started this place, and I’ve been working here since I was a teenager. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. We just use the regular tubelights. When a customer comes in, we pull down the sarees one by one and spread them out on the counter. It takes a lot of folding at the end of the day. Sometimes we get tired of the noise from the bus stand, but you get used to it after a while. We know most of the other shopkeepers around the corner. We share tea and talk about the weather. It’s a simple way to make a living. We don't do any big promotions or anything like that. People just know us because we’ve been at this corner for so long. If you need a saree and you’re catching a bus, you usually stop by here. It’s just how things work in Palwal. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit.
