Datta Gift Gallery

If you head over to Huda Market in Sec.16, you’ll find us at Booth No.58. Datta Gift Gallery has been tucked away here for quite some time. It’s a small space, so things are piled up pretty high. We’ve got all sorts of stuff on the shelves, from little toys and greeting cards to things people might want for a housewarming. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but there is a logic to where we put things. When someone comes in looking for a birthday present, we usually have to move a few boxes to find the right item. The market gets very crowded in the evenings, and we can hear the noise from the street all day long. It’s a friendly atmosphere, though. We know the other shopkeepers around here, and we often share a cup of tea while waiting for customers. Some people come in just to look around and end up staying for a conversation about the neighborhood. We don't do anything fancy with the store layout. It’s just a booth filled with things that might make someone smile. Sometimes we run out of wrapping paper or the tape goes missing, but we manage somehow. It’s a decent way to spend the day, seeing people pick out gifts for their friends and family. We just keep things simple and stay open until the market starts to quiet down for the night.
