Over in Sector 31, specifically in Spring Field Colony 16, you’ll find us in a space that used to be something else entirely before we took it over. We spent a lot of time just painting the walls and trying to make the floor smooth enough to dance on without catching a splinter. It’s a bit of a trek for some people to get out here, but it’s a nice area once you arrive. The lights are a bit dim in the evenings because one of the overhead fixtures keeps flickering, but it adds a certain vibe I guess. We keep a stack of old towels in the corner for anyone who needs them, and there’s usually a half-empty box of chalk near the back wall. We don’t have a fancy sound system, just a couple of speakers we’ve had for years that still kick pretty well. It’s funny how much noise a few people can make when they’re all moving together. Sometimes we just sit on the floor and talk for half the time instead of actually practicing anything. It’s more of a hangout that involves dancing than anything strictly professional. The door sticks a bit when it rains, so you have to give it a good shove to get inside. We like it here though, it’s quiet enough that we can hear ourselves think when the music isn’t blasting. It’s our little corner.
