Our factory is located at 16/2 on Mathura Road. It’s an old building, but it serves its purpose for what we do at Box & Carton (india) Pvt. Ltd. The road outside is one of the busiest around, so we hear trucks and horns all day long. Inside, the air is thick with the smell of cardboard and glue. We have stacks of flat boxes piled high in every available corner. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes when we have a lot of orders going out at once. We’ve been at this for many years, and some of the machines we use are almost as old as the company, but they still run fine if you know how to handle them. There’s a small desk in the front where we keep the delivery notes, but most of the time it’s covered in coffee mugs and scraps of paper. We don’t really do fancy presentations or sales pitches. People usually know what they need, and we just provide it. The floor is concrete and a bit cracked in places. We have a small crew of workers who have been here forever. They know the rhythm of the place. On Saturdays, we usually finish a bit early if the work is caught up. It’s not a glamorous job, but boxes are always needed, so we stay busy.
