It’s a good spot because people come to get cash and then realize they need a pen or a notebook for their kids. We have been in this exact location for many years. The shelves are made of old dark wood and they're packed tight with all sorts of books. Some are for school exams, while others are just stories for reading in the evening. It gets a bit dusty because we have so many items tucked away in corners. I usually spend my time dusting the covers or helping local kids find their specific textbooks. It’s a quiet life for the most part. We don't use any computer system here; we just write everything down by hand in a big blue register. It works fine for us. Sometimes the shop feels a bit dark because the light bulb at the very back is broken again, but we know where every single item is kept. My wife comes in to help out in the late afternoons.
