Gearwell Industries

Gearwell Industries is over at Plot No. 1066 Baba Nagar. It is a bit of a walk from the main road, and the dust can get pretty thick when the wind picks up. We focus on gears and machine parts. There is grease on almost every surface in here, and we have given up trying to keep our uniforms perfectly clean. My father started this place with just two manual lathes, and we have added a few more machines over the decades. It’s a family-run sort of thing. We don’t have a human resources department or a marketing team. If you call, you’ll probably just talk to me or my brother. We spend most of our time measuring metal and checking tolerances. It is quiet work until the grinders start up, and then you can’t hear a word anyone says. We have an old dog that hangs around the gate and sleeps in the shade of the delivery truck. The neighborhood has a lot of small shops like ours. We all know each other and sometimes borrow tools if something breaks. We aren't looking to become some massive corporation. We just want to keep the machines humming and the orders going out on time. Sometimes we stay late on Fridays to finish a batch so we can have a quiet Sunday. It is just honest work with metal and oil, really. No more, no less.
