Being over in Sector-58 in the Electroplating Zone means it’s pretty industrial all around. Plot 605 is where we spend our time, mostly dealing with the electronic parts and the plating process. It’s a bit of a trek to get here every morning, and the roads can be rough when it rains, but once you’re inside, it’s just the usual routine for the crew. We have these large tanks and the assembly area which takes up most of the floor space. There’s always a faint smell of chemicals in the air, but you get used to it after a week on the job. Our desks are covered in schematics and half-finished pieces of equipment that we're testing. Sometimes we sit there for hours just trying to figure out why a particular batch isn't coming out right. It’s not like those clean rooms you see in movies; there’s dust and real work happening here every day. The guys on the shop floor have their own way of doing things, and they don’t like it when anyone messes with their setup. We usually take our breaks together and talk about the news or whatever is happening in the local area. By the time five o'clock rolls around, everyone is ready to head out and beat the rush on the highway. It’s a steady kind of life, just making sure the pieces fit and the finish is right for the next stage. Most of the day is just spent keeping things moving. We don't have time for much else.
