A To Z Earthmovers

Our main spot is over at 622 in Sector 28. It's mostly where we handle the paperwork and keep the schedules for the earthmovers. Dealing with heavy machines means there's always something needing a fix or a part that hasn't shown up yet. A To Z isn't a huge operation with hundreds of people, it's just a handful of us making sure the equipment gets to where it needs to be on time. Sector 28 is a decent place to be based out of. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook when construction season picks up, and other times it's quiet enough to actually get the desk organized. We spend a lot of time out at sites, so the office is often empty for a few hours in the afternoon. The machines take a beating moving dirt and rocks all day, so we’re always looking at maintenance logs. It’s a lot of logistics. You wouldn't think moving dirt would be that complicated, but it really is. We try to keep the machines in good shape so they don't break down in the middle of a big job. If you come by the office, you might have to wait a minute while we finish a call with a driver or look for a misplaced invoice. It’s just how the day goes here. We aren't trying to be the biggest in town, just the ones who show up when we say we will.
