Hills Umbrella Industries

If you ever find yourself out near Falna Station in the Pali district, you’ll find us on Jadri Road. We are right opposite the industrial estate. Hills Umbrella Industries has been a part of this landscape for quite some time. Making umbrellas might seem simple, but it takes a lot of steady hands and patience. Our building isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space where we can assemble everything. The wind can get a bit strong out here, which is ironic given what we make. We see the trains passing by the station not too far away. It’s a good spot for us because people know the area well. We don't have a flashy showroom. Most of our space is taken up by frames, cloth, and handles. We have a small crew, mostly local folks from around Falna. We just get on with it. Some days are busier than others, especially when the monsoon is coming up. That’s when things really get moving and we are working late into the evening. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just make things that keep people dry. It’s honest work. The road outside can get a bit dusty, but inside we try to keep things in order. We’ve stayed here because it’s where we started and where we belong. It’s a simple life out here, and we like the routine of the seasons.
