You can find us at 323 in Faizabad, right near Thatraiyya Chowk. The chowk is always a bit of a mess with traffic and people, but that’s just how it is here. We spend a lot of our time dealing with poles, ropes, and big sheets of fabric. Our storage area is usually overflowing with stuff. When a job comes up, we load everything onto the trucks and head out. It’s heavy work and it gets very hot in Faizabad during the summer. We’ve been doing this for a long time. We know how to tie the knots and set the stakes so things stay up even if the wind blows. The shop is simple and mostly used for storing the tents and decorations when they aren't in use. We spend a lot of time mending tears in the cloth or repainting the metal frames. It’s not glamorous at all. You get dirty and tired. But seeing a big structure come together from nothing is something we like. People in the neighborhood know where to find us if they need shade or a setup for a gathering. We don't do much advertising; we just stay at our spot near the chowk and wait for the next call. It’s a straightforward life. We just work with our hands and try to keep everything in good shape for the next time it’s needed. It works for us.
