Shri Banke Bihari Rice Mills

We are over at Shri Banke Bihari Rice Mills on Amapur Road. We are part of the Kashi Ram Nagar district, which is a place that sees a lot of agricultural activity. Our mill is easy to spot if you are driving along the main road. We have a big yard where the grain gets unloaded. It’s a lot of physical labor, moving bags and checking the quality of what comes in. We start our day when it’s still cool out, getting the power turned on and the belts moving. The sound of the mill is like a constant hum that you eventually stop noticing. We have a few small rooms for storage and an area where we keep the records. It isn't a polished corporate environment. There are grease marks on the tools and plenty of wear on the floorboards. We talk to the local farmers every day, hearing about the rain or the lack of it. It’s those kinds of conversations that keep us connected to what’s happening in the fields. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertising. Word of mouth usually does the job for us around here. When the day is done, we lock up the main gates and head home. It’s a simple cycle of work, and we’ve been doing it this way for as long as I can remember. It keeps us busy and pays the bills.
