R B S Memorial Hospital is located right on the Main Road in Goshaiganj, in the Kazipur Gadar area. If you’re driving through Faizabad, you’ll likely pass us. The hospital is a plain building that stands right where the traffic is most busy. Because we are on the main road, there is always the sound of trucks and buses honking outside. It can be quite loud, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. Inside, it’s a different story. We have the usual hospital smell of disinfectant and floor cleaner. The rooms are simple with iron beds and small bedside tables. We spend a lot of our time walking back and forth between the wards and the front desk. There’s always someone needing something, whether it’s a fresh glass of water or help with some paperwork. The waiting area has some plastic chairs that get moved around a lot. We don’t have any fancy art on the walls, just some old posters about health. It’s a place that feels very lived-in. People from all over Goshaiganj come here because it’s easy to find. We don’t really do anything for show; we just try to manage the daily rush of patients as best as we can. Every day brings something a little different, but the routine of the hospital stays the same. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do here in 224141 and it keeps us busy.
