Down here in Kumarakom, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We are located at 1/404, right in the heart of the greenery here in Kottayam. Most people come to this part of Kerala for the water and the quiet, and we are right in the middle of it. We spend our days making sure the rooms are ready and the grounds look decent for whoever is visiting. It’s a lot of walking around and checking on things. The humidity can be tough in the afternoons, but you get used to it after a few years. We have a lot of local staff who have been here forever. We aren't just a big name; we are the people who actually live here and work the shifts. Sometimes the monsoon brings a bit of trouble with the paths, but we clear it up as fast as we can. Our spot is peaceful, and we try to keep it that way for the guests. Whether it's the kitchen staff or the folks at the front, we just try to be helpful. We don't use a lot of big words or fancy promises. If someone needs a towel or wants to know where the best fish is, we just tell them. It's just a regular job in a very beautiful place. We’re glad to be part of the 686563 community and to see the same faces every day.
