About Porwal Dal Mill – Food & Beverages in Etawah
If you head out towards the Sanskrit Pathsala in Baharpura, you’ll find our mill right there near the school. We are located in Village Post Baharpura on Bakewar Road. It’s a rural spot, very different from those city offices you see in the news. This is a working mill, so there’s always a bit of dust in the air and the heavy smell of grain. We process dal, and it involves a lot of heavy lifting. The machines are old but they still work fine as long as we grease them and listen for any weird noises. My family has lived in this village for generations. Running the mill is just what we do to get by. It’s a lot of physical labor, moving heavy sacks of lentils from the trucks to the grinders and then back out again. We get a lot of farmers coming by with their harvests in the back of their carts. There’s no fancy reception area or waiting room here. You usually find me in the back or near the loading area covered in dust. The weather really affects our work since we rely on the seasonal crops. When it rains too much, things slow down and we fix the roof. But during harvest time, we are working almost around the clock. The neighbors know us well. Sometimes the kids from the Sanskrit Pathsala walk by and wave on their way home. It’s a simple life. We don’t have a website or anything.
