Max Fashion Handicraft Zari Arts

You can find us at House No. 131 in Beroon Tola. It’s an old part of the neighborhood, and the house has been around for a long time. Max Fashion Handicraft Zari Arts is basically run out of this space. It’s not a shop in the way most people think of them. It’s more of a workshop where we do all the Zari work. The lighting has to be just right, so we have a few extra lamps around the work areas. Beroon Tola is full of narrow lanes and it can be a bit tricky for people to find us the first time. We spend hours bent over the frames, working on the designs. It's quiet work, mostly. we don't have a big sign outside or anything fancy. Just the house number and the work going on inside. Sometimes the kids from the street peek in to see what we are doing. It gets quite warm in the summer, so we have the fans going full blast all day long. We’ve lived and worked in this area for years, so everyone around knows us. We don't do much in terms of marketing; people just know we're here if they need Zari work done. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on small details, which can be tiring on the eyes. But it’s what we know how to do. We usually have some tea around four and take a short break to stretch before finishing the day.
