Beedhamal & Sons Rice Mills

Beedhamal & Sons Rice Mills has been here in Sindhi Colony for quite a long time now. My father started this place and now we just keep it going every day. Bharthana gets really dusty when the trucks come in loaded with grain, but that is just how it is around here. We wake up early, get the machines started, and wait for the farmers to show up. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit and wait, but usually, we stay busy. The mill has a lot of old parts that we have to fix ourselves most of the time. It is not a fancy place by any means. There is rice husk everywhere and the floor is always covered in a bit of grit. People come by to check on their loads and we just talk about the weather or how the harvest is looking this year. My sons help out when they can, though they have their own things going on too. We don't really have a big office or anything, just a small desk and some ledgers where we write everything down. The building is old and the walls could probably use some paint, but it works for what we do. We just focus on getting the rice cleaned and sorted so it can get moved out to the next stop. It is hard work and the noise from the hullers is constant once we start them up.
