Asha Clinic & Diagnostic Centre & Maternity Centre

It’s pretty hectic here at New Jalaun Chauraha. Being in the Nagar Palika Market means there is always noise from the shops and the people outside. We have a lot going on inside too, since we handle diagnostics and maternity stuff along with the regular clinic work. It’s a bigger operation than some of the other places, but it still feels like a local shop. The building is right in the middle of the market chaos. We’ve got different rooms for the different sections, though sometimes it feels like everyone is in the same space when it gets crowded. The floors are hard to keep clean with so many people walking in from the dusty Chauraha. We do our best with a broom and some water. It’s not a polished hospital. It’s more of a community hub where things are always moving. We have machines for testing and a space for mothers, which keeps us on our toes all day long. There isn't much time for sitting around. We talk to families, deal with the paperwork, and try to keep things organized. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in. It’s just part of life here in the market. We don’t use fancy words to describe what we do. We just show up, open the doors at Nagar Palika Market, and get to work. It is a bit loud, but it is home.
