Naveen Hardware Store

Plot No.433 in Gandhi Market is where we spend almost all our time. We are right near the ICICI Bank Ltd., which is a good landmark because the market can get pretty confusing if you don't know your way around. Our hardware store is packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of tools, nails, and supplies. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside at once. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. The noise from the market is constant, with people shouting and horns honking all day long. We keep the doors open to get a bit of air, but that also brings in all the dust from the street. We don't use any fancy sales tactics; we just wait for people to come in and ask for what they need. Most of our customers are locals who are fixing up their homes or workers who need a specific wrench or some pipe fittings. We stay open late most nights because that is when the market really gets busy. It’s a tiring job, standing on our feet and climbing ladders to reach the top shelves, but it’s what we know. We have been at this plot for years and have seen many other shops come and go. We just keep our heads down and keep the shelves stocked. It’s a lot of work but it keeps us busy and out of trouble.
