M&E Supervisor

I’m working as an M&E Supervisor based in the village of Babar Pur. It’s out near Borra Kalan in the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh. Living and working in a place like 207301 is a different pace than the big cities. My job is mostly about keeping an eye on the mechanical and electrical stuff on various sites. I spend a lot of time traveling between different locations in the district. It’s not a desk job. I’m usually out there with the workers, checking the wiring or making sure the pipes are installed the right way. Sometimes things break down at the worst possible time, and I have to figure out a way to fix it with what we have on hand. It’s a lot of responsibility because if the M&E systems fail, the whole project slows down. I’ve lived in this part of UP for a long time, so I know the local ways and how to get things moving. The roads aren't always great, and sometimes the supplies take forever to reach Babar Pur, but we make it work. I keep a log of everything in a battered notebook I carry around. It’s not a polished corporate role. It’s about being on the ground and making sure the lights stay on and the machines keep running. I don't really have a big staff, just me and a few technicians I trust. We just do our jobs day in and day out. My family has been here for generations so I care about the area.
