Out here on Erode Main Road in Nathakadaiyur, we spend most of our time at Sri Ram Paper Bags. Our place is at No. 370/3 - A in Sathya Nagar. It’s mostly a workshop where we take big rolls of paper and turn them into bags of all different sizes. We started doing this because the local shops needed something other than plastic, and we had the space to set up the machines. It’s not a quiet job. The folding machines make a lot of noise all day long. Sometimes the glue gets a bit messy, and we have to stop and clean everything down. We aren't a massive factory, just a local business trying to keep up with the orders from the nearby towns. Usually, you’ll see bundles of brown and white paper stacked up near the entrance. We try to keep things organized, but when a big order comes in, the whole floor gets covered in paper scraps. The heat on the main road can be a bit much in the afternoons, so we usually start early. People stop by to pick up bundles for their small shops or pharmacies. We don't have a fancy office; it’s just a desk in the corner with a ledger and a phone. We just focus on making sure the handles are glued on tight so they don't snap when someone carries their groceries home. It's honest work that keeps us on our feet.
