Sri Krishna Minerals

Out here at No: 266/1D on Sellandi Palayam Street, things move at their own pace. We are based in Somur Post, which is a quiet enough area until the trucks start moving. Sri Krishna Minerals is basically just a few of us working together to get the water sorted and into the containers. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a practical setup where we keep the filters and the empty cans. Every morning starts with checking the lines and making sure everything is running okay. We get a lot of dust from the road sometimes, so we spend a good chunk of the day just wiping things down and keeping the area clean. It’s hard work, especially when the humidity picks up in the afternoon and the shirts start sticking to our backs. We don't have a big office or anything, just a desk where we keep the logbooks and a few chairs for when we take a break. The neighbors on Sellandi Palayam Street are mostly used to the sound of our pump by now. We try not to make too much noise late at night. It’s just about getting the water out to the people who need it in the village and the surrounding parts. We don't do much advertising; people just know we’re here at the post. It’s a simple life, really. We just focus on the bottles and the delivery route.
