Sree Rengas Narrow Fabrics

We are based at 4-A, Gandipuram East in Komarapalayam. This town is all about textiles, so we fit right in with our narrow fabrics. If you walk into Sree Rengas Narrow Fabrics, you’ll immediately notice the smell of thread and the sound of the machines. It’s a rhythmic kind of noise that becomes like background music after a while. Our space is divided into a work area and a small section where we keep the finished rolls. There’s lint everywhere, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just part of the job. We don't have a big, fancy sign outside, just a small one so people know they’ve found the right place. The light in the workshop is a bit dim, but we have lamps over the areas where we need to see the details. Most of the people working here have been in the textile industry since they were young. We don't have a "mission" or anything like that. We just make the fabrics and try to keep the machines running smooth. Sometimes the power goes out, and we all just sit outside and wait for it to come back. It’s a slow-paced life in some ways, but we’re always busy with something. Komarapalayam is a hardworking town, and we’re just one small part of it. We don’t have much in the way of an office, mostly just the workspace and a lot of fabric rolls.
