Our office is tucked away at 17/4 in the Akilmedu area. Specifically, we are on 6th Cross Street, which is right behind the Ajantha Lodge. It is not a very large place, just a few rooms where we keep our files and desks. The street outside can get quite busy with people coming and going from the lodge, so there is always some noise. We have been here for a good while now. The building is a bit older, so the walls have some marks and the floors are a little worn down. We don't have any flashy signs or big advertisements outside. Most people find us because they know the neighborhood or saw the lodge first. Inside, it is mostly quiet except for the sound of the ceiling fans and the occasional phone ringing. We spend our mornings going through paperwork and drinking tea from the stall just around the corner. The furniture is practical and a bit mismatched, but it serves its purpose for our daily meetings. We don't have a dedicated cleaning crew, so we usually just tidy up the desks ourselves before we head home for the evening. It feels like a real part of the local community. We know the neighbors and the shopkeepers nearby. It is a simple, no-nonsense environment where we just get on with our tasks. There is nothing corporate about it; it is just a plain office in a busy part of town.
