Our place is over in Veerappanpalayam, near Mettur, out in the Erode district. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but it’s where we do our work. This isn't a city office with elevators and air conditioning in every corner. It’s a more traditional setup where we manage the local building projects. We spend a lot of time talking to the workers and making sure the supplies arrive at the right time. The office is basically just a room with some sturdy tables and a lot of filing cabinets. We use simple tools and keep things organized as best as we can. It’s often quiet in the mornings, which is when we get the most paperwork done. By the afternoon, it gets more active with people coming in from the sites. We handle things in a very straightforward way here in Tamil Nadu. If something needs fixing, we go out and fix it. We don't spend hours in meetings talking about it. The people working here are mostly locals who know the area well. We’ve been part of the community in Arachalur for a while, and we just focus on doing a decent job on every project we take on. It’s honest work, and we don't feel the need to make it sound like more than it is. We often have the windows open to let the breeze in, even if it brings a bit of dust from the road. It feels more natural that way. We don't have any big corporate signs out front, just a small one so people know they've found the right place. Most of our visitors are people we've known for years, so it's always a friendly atmosphere. We keep a stash of notebooks and pens everywhere because you never know when you'll need to sketch out an idea or jot down a measurement. It’s a busy, messy, and productive place to be.
