Hidel Power Links

You can find us over in the Saravana Building on Mettur Road, and we also have a place on Malang Street in Permambut. We are out in the Vellore district. We deal with power links and electrical stuff. It’s a lot of wires, connections, and hardware. I started working here because I like seeing how things get connected. It’s not a glamorous job. The office in Saravana Building gets pretty warm in the summer, even with the fans going. We spend a lot of time talking to local guys who are trying to get their wiring sorted out. Sometimes the orders are small, just a few parts, and other times it’s a big load of gear for a larger project. We aren't a big corporate office with a receptionist. Usually, whoever is closest to the phone picks it up. We’ve had some long days when the shipments come in late and we have to unload everything by hand. Permambut is a quiet enough place most of the time, but we keep busy. We don't have a mission statement or any of that. We just sell electrical supplies. We try to keep the prices fair because we know everyone around here. It’s a local business through and through. If the lights are on, someone is probably here working. We keep it simple and just do what needs doing every day. It's just a regular shop.
