Saran Keys

Saran Keys is tucked away behind Kalyan Silks in the Agilmedu area. We are on 6th Street in Sait Colony, at number 32/A1. It’s a bit of a hidden spot if you don't know the shortcut behind the big silk shop. We mostly deal with keys and locks, as the name suggests. It’s a small shop, really more of a workshop. We have machines for cutting keys and piles of different blanks everywhere. It’s a bit metallic smelling in here most of the time. People come in when they’ve lost their house keys or need a spare for their bike. We don't have a fancy waiting area, just a stool if it's not covered in tools or old metal shavings. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I can usually tell what a key is for just by looking at it. My son helps out sometimes when he’s not busy with his own things. The street outside is usually quiet, except for the delivery trucks going to the back of the silk store. We open up in the morning and stay until the evening. If someone is locked out, they usually find us pretty quickly because we are known in the area. We don't have a big website or anything fancy. Just the shop and our tools. It’s a simple trade and we like it that way. We just focus on getting the keys right so people can get on with their day. It’s honest work.
