Periyar Nagar is a nice place to live and work. Our shop is at 86/2 in Chidambaram Colony, which is a quiet enough area most of the time. We’ve been here since the neighborhood was a lot smaller than it is now. I remember when there were only a few houses around this street. Now, everything has grown up so fast. We mostly handle phone stuff and recharges, but we also talk to a lot of people who just stop by to say hello. It’s a small shop, just enough for a counter and a few chairs. I spend most of my day behind the glass, looking out at the street. Sometimes a stray dog comes by and sits under the shade of our awning. We aren't trying to become some big corporation. We just want to make enough to keep the lights on and help the people who live nearby. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep a small fan running constantly. The shelves are filled with different accessories and cards. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done. My brother helps out on the weekends when it gets a bit more crowded. We like the pace of life here. It’s simple and we know our neighbors well.
