Sree Rajalakshmi Textiles

Sree Rajalakshmi Textiles is inside the Sri Srinavasa Commercial Complex in Ranigunj. Our specific spot is 23 A on Tiruchengode Road. Being right opposite the telephone exchange helps people find us, though the complex can be a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. Pallipalayam is always moving and shaking. We have stacks of textiles everywhere in the shop. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit because we have so much stock coming in from the mills. It's just me and a couple of others working here most days. We get a lot of locals who have been coming to this area for many years. The building is older, but it stays cool enough when the fans are on. We don't bother with fancy displays or bright lights. We just put the cloth out where people can touch it and see the quality for themselves. Sometimes the stairs to the complex are a bit crowded with people waiting for the bus. We’ve been in Ranigunj for a long time. It’s a noisy part of town, but we like the energy. We focus on the daily stuff like measuring and cutting fabric. I often lose my pen in all the piles of cloth on the counter. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s our business. We just open up, sweep the floor, and wait for the first customer. It’s a simple life in the textile trade.
