Sukumar Coir India Private Limited

We are based out in Perundurai, right on the Anumanpalli Main Road. Our place is specifically in Murungatholuvu, under the S.F. No. 382/3 plot. Being in the coir business means we spend a lot of time around coconut husks and fiber. It’s a dusty job, and the smell of raw coir is something you just get used to after the first week. We process the fiber into various products, mostly for shipping out to other places. The yard is usually filled with piles of brown husk drying in the sun. It’s a very rural setting compared to the big cities, and we like it that way. The pace is a bit slower, but the work is physically demanding. We have a group of local workers who know the machines inside and out. We don’t have a corporate office or a marketing team. Most of our business comes from long-standing relationships with people who know the quality of our fiber. Some days the machines break down because of the grit, and we spend the afternoon covered in grease fixing them. That’s just part of running a coir mill. It’s a simple business, really—taking what the trees give us and turning it into something useful. We’ve been here in Palayapalayam for years and plan to stay, doing the same honest work day after day.
