Manicot Fab Private Limited is located at number 7 on Ottukara Chinnaya Street in Erode. Being in Erode, we are right in the thick of the textile heartland, so the whole street is usually buzzing with similar businesses. It’s a narrow road, and things can get pretty jammed up when a truck is trying to unload right outside our door. Inside, we have our fabric samples and the usual office clutter that comes with running a small business. The walls are lined with shelves holding different types of material, and there’s always a faint smell of dye and starch in the air. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or expensive furniture; the desks are old and the chairs are just for sitting while we check the accounts or talk to a customer. Most of the day is spent checking the quality of the fabrics coming through and making sure the yardage is correct. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and measuring, and the fans never seem to spin quite fast enough in the Erode heat. We’ve got a small team here, and we all know the routine by heart now. It’s just about getting the fabric out to the people who need it without making a fuss. We don’t use big words or have long meetings, we just get on with the job as best as we can.
